Cappuccino

Enjoying the luxury of specialty coffee drinks doesn’t have to break the bank!

You can make your own drinks right at home—it’s easy and affordable! We’ll show you how to make a classic cappuccino using tools you probably already have in your kitchen! Let’s get started!

First, let’s steam the milk. You always want to do this step before brewing the coffee, as the milk tends to “hold” a little better than the coffee.

Heat 1 cup in a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat. Let the milk simmer until bubbles form around the edges, but don’t let it boil. Remove the pan from the heat and set it on a flat surface.

Next, whip the milk with an electric mixer, increasing the speed as the milk begins to thicken. Continue mixing until you get the desired volume of froth.

If you’re making just one cappuccino, you can also heat your milk in the microwave. Microwave on high for a minute to a minute and a half or until hot but not boiling. Then just beat the milk, increasing the speed as it begins to thicken.

Now, let’s make the coffee. Measure 2 tablespoons of grounds for 5 to 6 ounces of water. Try using Folgers® French Roast. Its bold, full-bodied taste makes it a great substitute for espresso!

To assemble the cappuccino, use 1 part espresso, 1 part steamed milk, and 1 part foam. That’s all there is to making your own delectable cappuccino. You can also create delicious cappuccino variations using 2 or 3 tablespoons of flavored syrups, like vanilla or caramel. It’s so easy to make your own cappuccino!

Just to recap:

Steam the milk. Make the coffee. Assemble your cappuccino, and add flavored syrups, if desired.
