French Press
If you like specialty coffee, but don’t want to spend a lot of money, we have good news
for you!
We’re showing you how to make a great cup of strong Folgers® Coffee using a French press.
First, remove the plunger from your 4-cup French press. Just pull it straight up and out of the glass pot.
To ensure your coffee is hot, preheat the equipment by rinsing the plunger with hot water. You’ll also want to fill the
coffee cups and glass pot before using them. Pour out the water and you’re ready.
Place 8 tablespoons of Folgers French Roast coffee grounds into the bottom of your press. This will make
four cups.
Pour hot (but not boiling) water into the glass pot... leaving about an inch of room at the top. Stir the water and coffee
with a plastic spoon so you don’t break the glass. Return the plunger unit on top of the pot. Be sure to turn the lid so
it blocks the pour spout. Without lowering the plunger, let the coffee brew for 4 minutes.
Now you’re ready to slowly lower the plunger, down to the bottom to the bottom of the pot. You’ll see the grounds compress at the
bottom. With the plunger down, turn the lid to open the spout... and pour. For best results, be sure to serve the coffee
right away!
